Residence Michelangelova won the Czech Architects Grand Prix 2022!

Another of our projects that won the title in a prestigious domestic competition is the Michelangelo Residence. We are very pleased that it took home the win in the category of Sustainable Construction from yesterday’s gala. The architecturally distinctive, energy-efficient building in Prague 10 with 29 apartments, which we completed this spring, is the work of Podlipný Sladký architects and is complemented by two commercial spaces and a small park with a playground and gazebo. As with all our residential projects, we have placed great emphasis on a healthy indoor environment: we have installed a sophisticated system in the house, consisting of heat pumps for heating and cooling the roof apartments, controlled ventilation with heat recovery and photovoltaic panels. And why the name “Michelangelo Residence”? Because the magnificent Renaissance personality of Michelangelo Buonarroti was the inspiration for the apartment building. The entrance is adorned with a large glass surface with a detail of part of the fresco of the Creation of Adam from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and the names of the different floors refer to the artist’s paintings, sculptures or architectural works (the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, the Medici Library of St. Lawrence and the Medici Chapel in Florence, David, Pieta and the Holy Family).
